Keys are now too small, I suggest to revert e65ec411
I just got the new layout update. Sadly, it seems like an accessibility downgrade to me: the keys are now feeling noticeably cramped, I suggest to please revert e65ec411 .
Here is a long discussions why fast typers may think this layout is a smart idea, when it can sadly introduce usability and accessibility problems: https://source.puri.sm/Librem5/squeekboard/-/issues/213 While you might argue the keys are not much smaller, I am pretty sure they are smaller now and the difference does really seem quite notable to me.
There is also one additional notable issue which is that before the layout was almost 1:1 the squeekboard one which really helps with getting people used to it, and now it is notably different. While that in itself isn't a particularly strong argument, in addition with the obvious usability issues with typing I think this is a notable thing to point out why the new layout just isn't worth it.
I'd like to also point out that osk-sdl already had this layout, and I already argued for & committed its reversal in the past for all the reasons above. I'm saddened to see this regression, and would ask there is some more in-depth reconsideration before going back into the layout dark ages again.
