wt88047 problems waking device and dmesg errors

I regularly get

[drm:mdp5_irq_error_handler [msm]] *ERROR* errors: 04000000

in dmesg. This messages appears to come up every time when waking the device using the power button. Most of the time the device does not wake up properly, as in the backlight comes on but nothing is displayed. Even when the lockscreen is displayed, the screen is often still black after the lockscreen.

Sometimes it takes a while to even turn the backlight on and I get

when that happens.

The device sometimes taking a while or a couple of tries to wake up also happen on android, but the blank screen with backlight on doesn't.

What's the expected behaviour?

Phone should wake up and display something.

What's the current behaviour?

Phone often takes a while, either shows the lockscreen and has a blackscreen afterwards or shows a blackscreen immediately.

How to reproduce your issue?

Wake the device with the power button.

xiaomi-wt88047 The chinese version which strictly speaking is wt86047.
