google-kukui: latest images for edge & v24.12 do not boot from usb.

What's the expected behaviour?

images built with pmbootstrap or prebuilt-images from build.postmarketos.org can be booted from USB

What's the current behaviour?

latest images (see list below) do not boot. device only beeps on ctrl-u or when selecting "boot from USB"

flash image to usb-memory and try to boot

google-krane/google-kukui

On what postmarketOS version did you encounter the issue?

• edge (master branch)

• v24.06

• v24.12

• I confirm that the issue still is present after running sudo apk upgrade -a

dmesg on host-PC would show a message like that after flashing the image to usb-memory device:

Maybe you can just try setting deviceinfo_partition_type=msdos?

Does not seem to help on my device, need to investigate further

20241121-0344-postmarketOS-edge-gnome-3-google-kukui.img flashed to USB will also not boot, looks like my device is locked for boot from USB.

Would be nice if someone else with a google-krane or -kukui could try the v24.21 image(s)

GPT is a requirement for ChromeOS devices.

20241211-1738-postmarketOS-edge-phosh-22.5-google-kukui.img.xz boots just fine from usb on my krane.

ok, than its really my device having an issue with the settings..
