Touchscreen works, but the events aren't sent to DE/WM

I ported Huawei Y3 II 3G, but met an issue I can't deal with myself. The problem is that when I touch the screen, programs like tslib, libevent and xinput detect touches, but the event is not sent to DE. I tried Weston, Matchbox and XFCE with the same result. The screen updates just fine, I have msm-fb-refresher installed. Also, this problem occurred on Samsung Galaxy Chat as well.

I don't see this device in the device/ folder, did you not MR it yet?

Did you set the correct touchscreen device in the deviceinfo file?

@PureTryOut : yes, I didn't make an MR yet, because I wanted to fix touchscreen first. It is set in deviceinfo as /dev/input/event3 which is detected by mentioned libraries as touchscreen.

Please execute libinput debug-events, touch the screen a bit and send the output from libinput here.

This issue is linked from wiki article Troubleshooting:touchscreen, but the links have expired. Is it possible to replace them with something that is useful for anybody come here from the wiki?

My situation with Sony Xperia XA seems quite similator to what is discussed here, but without your original logs, it is a bit difficult to say for sure.

Ah beautiful, another broken mediatek touchscreen driver... You'll likely need to check in the kernel touchscreen driver which events are sent and maybe try to compare it with https://github.com/z3ntu/android_kernel_fairphone_FP1/blob/postmarketOS/mediatek/custom/common/kernel/touchpanel/ft5316/ft5316_driver.c#L320-L350 (which is the touchscreen driver of the Fairphone 1), I know that https://github.com/z3ntu/android_kernel_fairphone_FP1/commit/6ac17c4a666169ab9feb6450b72d650b56cd2842 fixed the touchscreen on the FP1 although the symptoms were a bit different on that device. If you can send me a link to the touchscreen driver for your device, I can look a bit myself. If you don't know which driver it is, it might be found with what value is assigned to CONFIG_CUSTOM_KERNEL_TOUCHPANEL

Looking at the driver's code (https://github.com/HenriDellal/kernel-huawei-y3ii/blob/master/drivers/input/touchscreen/mediatek/FT5446/focaltech_driver.c#L592-L637) and comparing it with the FP1 source, I've spotted two differences in tpd_down:

1. Huawei's driver sends ABS_MT_PRESSURE
2. Huawei's driver doesn't send ABS_MT_TRACKING_ID I will patch it and see if it works
