GTK4.17 has removed the legacy gl renderer, which breaks all Adreno 3xx devices

GTK 4.17 has done some "spring cleaning" which involved yeeting the gl renderer from the tree entirely. All msm8916 devices (and other qcom devices using Adreno 3xx at the very least) were carrying a hack to force the use of this renderer as the newer one (ngl) doesn't work on this GPU.
Alpine edge is still on 4.16 so this hasn't blown up yet, but it's about to.
