Some changes look veery suspicious, several drivers and other useful things were disabled, does the kernel still work? Does all (supported) hardware still work?

Yes, everything works. I have tested on my device and all is perfect. When the config was created initially there were a few bugs on some models, and there was not even support for this phone in LineageOS. This new one is based on LineageOS, and everything works that worked before, and more (touch screen, volume buttons)
