Error: Cannot proceed with format operation.

An error occurs at this part of the pmbootstrap install sequence:

[19:27:18] *** TYPE IN THE FULL DISK ENCRYPTION PASSWORD (TWICE!) *** Enter passphrase for /var/lib/snapd/snaps/gnome-3-28-1804_161.snap: Device /dev/installp2 is in use. Cannot proceed with format operation.

While looking through the log.txt file, "snap" seems to figure prominently in the lines.

The install fails at this point. It was attempted three times.

The system being used to flash a OnePlus 6 (64GB) phone is an Ubuntu 21.10, Gnome 40.4.0 system with "snaps" installed.log.txt
