Megapixels does not work on Librem 5

What's the expected behaviour?

Megapixels applications start correctly on pmOS edge on the Librem 5.

What's the current behaviour?

Megapixels application is run from phosh or from a terminal, and immediately quits. The error message in the terminal is shown in the screenshot below.

How to reproduce your issue?

Run megapixels.

What device are you using?

Librem 5

On what postmarketOS version did you encounter the issue?

• edge (master branch)

• v21.12

• v22.06

• I confirm that the issue still is present after running sudo apk upgrade -a

you have to install the package megapixels-purism to get purism's fork of megapixels that supports the Librem 5.

I was hoping that purism's fork would be short-lived, but it seems like it might be here to stay for a while... so basically this forked megapixels should be installed automatically on the L5 when phosh is installed

FYI some recent progress on this:

• fork submitted as "millipixels" to alpine aports, and merged: https://gitlab.alpinelinux.org/alpine/aports/-/merge_requests/43318

• patch to pmaports, that should have millipixels installed by default for the L5, on most UIs: !3815 (closed)

• the fork appears to be here to stay

G'day,

On my Librem5 millipixels displays as 'Camera (Dev ' [I can't see the rest] - I finally figured out it was Millipixels by running /usr/bin/millipixels from command line

Anyhow it seems to work - well other than settings are always too dark initially and can never be saved - however I cannot save any picture taken with the main/rear camera! It just shows the saving icon ...
