Thanks for opening the issue. I guess the best short term workaround would be setting the pkgver to 9999, so it will always install our version. @z3ntu: would you like to prepare a MR for that?
The proper approach would be upstreaming lynxis' patches (which @bshah carried over to ofono 1.21 already) to upstream ofono (but it seems that there's quite a lot to do from a quick glance).
I met with @lynxis at osmodevcon, and he rebased the patches in order to take another shot at submitting them to upstream (he said that they are still WIP though)
So I've tried to test them on the lg-hammerhead, see the ofono-update branch in pmaports.git (and read the commit message for instructions on how to build it for now, the pmOS packaging is quite WIP due to ofono using ell now).
Problem is, that I couldn't get the modem working out of the box with hammerhead, unrelated to this patch (I didn't try this before). See #238 (closed) for details.
@MartijnBraam, @bshah: would you like to try out the patches?
@lynxis: thanks again for rebasing the patches back in April. well, it took us some time... but FWIW, your patches are finally tested on a smartphone-like device. @z3ntu tested them on the pinephone devkit, and now we have them packaged:
@ollieparanoid I would like to test the changes before publishing it to the mailinglist. But feel free to test it ;)
Thanks for testing it. I'll look further into to publish it on the ML.
