Librem5: Infinite reboot with sparklan module.

What's the expected behaviour?

When I reboot the librem5, the phone should turn off, and on again

What's the current behaviour?

When I reboot the phone, the phone turn off, then hangs with a green LED. I have to kill the phone by holding in the power button.

How to reproduce your issue?

Reboot the phone from the top right menu in phosh. Have sparklan module installed and enabled (no HW killswitch)

What device are you using?

librem5

On what postmarketOS version did you encounter the issue?

• edge (master branch)

• v24.06

• v23.12 (supported until 2024-07-16)

• I confirm that the issue still is present after running sudo apk upgrade -a

On what environment did you encounter the issue?

How did you get postmarketOS image?

• from https://images.postmarketos.org
• I built it using pmbootstrap
• It was preinstalled on my device

Additional information

The phone reboots fine when HW killswitch for wifi/bt module is enabled. It also works to do power off, and manually power the phone on.

The problem does not occur with the repine module.

Thanks for filing this! I noticed this the other day but thought maybe I had some something wrong. Normally I shutdown/poweroff... I assume that reboot is fine under PureOS, so maybe need to compare configs between the two distros.

I can confirm reboot works fine in PureOS with sparklan module.

I can reproduce this as well on v24.06 (sparklan wifi) - 3 reproduction attempts, all successful. Symptoms exactly as stated by the OP.

More detail:

• fresh install, using f2fs
• no sim card inserted
• all radios enabled (kill switches not in use)
• not connected to wifi while rebooting
• bluetooth broken as described in #2880 (closed) (quickfix described in #2918 (closed) enables bluetooth but this does have any effect on the issue here)
