samsung-s6500d: reboots afer 2 minutes

I don't want to overtake #242 (closed) so I guess I should finally make individual issue

Phone always reboots after 2 minutes 40 seconds, there is no /dev/watchdog

What have been tested:

• stock ROM/CyanogenMod 10/11, for now only things that doesn't reboot
• regular pmos build, boot.img + system, reboots
• CM11 boot.img (kernel+initramfs), no system partition (pmos one, but it doesn't recognise it), reboots

It seems like solution to this problem is somewhere on /system/ partition

added category::device type::bug labels

Perhaps running dmesg > somefile and then waiting for the device to poweroff, or running some kind of UART/serial console could be useful in this case, so one could try finding the cause of the phone shutting down.

Last message I was able to retrieve was SMSM: Modem SMSM state changed to SMSM_RESET

This message is hardcoded into arch/arm/mach-msm/smd.c

SMSM - Shared Memory State Machines, whatever that is

At first glance at the source code it might be caused by modem

Also downstream kernel was recently updated, it might have this fixed, will check in next three weeks

git grep SMSM in pmaports.git shows, that some kernels have an option with SMSM in the name. So you could try to disable a related option in your kernel config and see if it works around the issue.

Hi, samsung-ariesve (which I maintain) suffers from the same issue you are mentioning. And searching the wiki I found that gp-peak has that issue as well.
