Error trying to flash kernel in Samsung Galaxy S4 (i9515)

    I have an i9515 but it's supposedly just the same as the i9505 so I tried to make it work:
    Followed the instructions on the Wiki for the S4 International (i9505) and the heimdall command failed when I executed pmbootstrap flasher flash_kernel.

    Apparently it can't read the "PIT file". The error is the same as the issue #1612 (closed).

    I'm flashing from a VM inside Virtualbox running on Windows 7 if that makes any difference.

      This is an issue with Heimdall v1.4.2 You should:

      • Make sure that your phone is disconnected from the computer.
      • run pmbootstrap flasher flash_kernel
      • when it says: < wait for any device >, plug your phone (in Heimdall mode) into the computer.

      @ollieparanoid maybe we should downgrade to Heimdall v1.4.1 as it doesn't have these connection problems.

      Nope, that didn't work either. It fails with the exact same message. Maybe the i9515 doesn't work after all.

      Btw, I noticed that in the device specific wiki page it tells to first flash the kernel then the rootfs. In the general installation guide it's the opposite. Does it make a difference?

      It should not make a difference.

      I'm closing this, because it's about the same error as #1612 (closed). Thanks for providing the log output!
