`mkinitfs` silently fails if file list ends in a newline

Placing an arbitrary files-for-initfs.files into /usr/share/mkinitfs{-extra}/files/ which terminates with a newline results in mkinitfs not placing any of the files in that list into the final initfs (in fact, the initfs ends up completely empty...)
