100 days of postmarketOS blog post
Created by: ollieparanoid
Motivation
The 50 days of postmarketOS post worked out well:
- it summarized the most important new features and changes in the project
- quite a lot of Linux developers in /r/linux and hackernews read it and got to know about the project: the stars on GitHub for
pmbootstrap
increased rapidly the day this was posted, and so did the reader count in both/r/postmarketOS
and the IRC/matrix channel - some people even attempted fresh ports and joined the project!
General information
- postmarketOS will reach it's 100st day in one week on Sunday, 03-09-2017, so I would try to release the post between Saturday (night) and Sunday. (See also:
postmarketos_days.py
) - I would release this post together with the new homepage design of postmarketos.org (see postmarketOS/pmbootstrap#321 and the work done here in the
next
branch) - This post will not be written from my perspective at all (unlike the blog posts on my blog), it will show what we have achieved together!
- I suggest we add this post as a PR, so everyone can improve it before it gets published and the whole process is generally more transparent.
- In my opinion, it makes sense to write the names of the people who have contributed to a specific enhancement or port when talking about it, but feel free to discuss this!
Topics
Here's my incomplete list of topics that I recommend to include (added pings to people in the back, in case they want to prepare a cool photo or screenshot, or polish the feature a bit more). I have not scrolled through the commits/PRs yet (planning to do that, so I don't miss any names!), so this is from memory and excuse me if you or your favorite contributions are missing from this list. Please correct me
