#1190 (closed) could be closed by backporting g-c-c from current master. The current packaged master is 3.38 with Purism's patches applied and compatible with GNOME 40 available in Alpine 3.14. Purism's patches cherry picks the upstream fix for the issue described and contains some more nice improvements that are otherwise missing in 21.06

The new phosh v0.14.0 release has some nice improvements (among others, finally the seek buttons made it in :D), and seems to run pretty stable. So that seems like a good candidate for backporting.
