Microphone works not in calls with default setup. IIRC works best with pipewire

This seems to affect both Pipewire and Pulseaudio. Adding ConflictingDevice sections and removing HiFi (the use case without call audio) in the UCM works best for Pipewire, but automatic headphone switching in Pulseaudio seems to only work with the HiFi use case.

Removing HiFi also removes the ability to play audio simultaneously on headphones and speakers, but call audio should be more important.

Extra notes:

Brightness adjustment renders horizontal grey stripes on the display both via slider or sensor. Sometimes even renders the display completely greyed and I have to lock+unlock phone via power button. Behavior present on previous release too.
External display works, but is awfully unpolished compared to previous stable release. ~~HDMI audio does not work.~~ Possible culprit: "hdmi-audio-codec.4.auto: ASoC: error at snd_soc_dai_hw_params on i2s-hifi: -22". UPDATE: I can restart the pulseaudio server or the phone while connected to the monitor and get sound working again. However, is still very buggy.
GPS and magnetometer would rarely get a fix, after lots of restarts. Tried with 3 different SIM cards. Satellite app sometimes reports connecting to a few satellites, other times shows "fix type: 2D". Very unpredictable behaviour.
Device resuming from suspend shows the following errors: "[dpu error]connector not connected 3" and "[drm:drm_mode_config_helper_resume] ERROR Failed to resume (-22)"

I am debugging some issues with my SIM so could not test call/SMS/GPS functionality. Other fp5 users can update on these
UPDATE: calls can be made and received, and a connection is established. Since onboard speaker/mic don't work yet, there is no sound. Sound is not automatically routed through USB headset

cameras work in qcam, snapshot, and firefox. They are not detected by plasma apps (Qrca, plasma-camera, angelfish) but I had the same problem on edge
audio works over USB-C headphones (AKG) and bluetooth (Marathon). No drivers yet for onboard speakers and mic.
HDMI through USB-C dongle works, but I could not get sound; needs more debugging
HW video decoding works. h264 is perfect, VP9 is buggy (errors and desync)

If it was #3269 (closed), there would be a PID from pidof syslogd.

In my case with a fresh install the speakers and plugging in earphones work, but I'm also experiencing the problem of the modem disconnecting in deep sleep, looking at the logs the only directly relevant entry I can see is ModemManager getting killed with signal 6 upon waking up from suspend.

Then I think it would be good to backport it, right?

First it needs to get merged to mm master (that MR). Then either MM needs to backport it to 1.22 and make a release, or we patch it in to aports master proactively (I will do that if the mm MR doesn't get traction after holiday season is over). Then we can decide whether to backport it to aports 3.21 or not.

Just upgraded, sound works but phosh doesn't show volume and audio devices in the quick settings menu. Volume buttons also don't do anything.

Unrelated to the mentioned audio issues - phosh crashes and restarts from time to time. I don't have logs of this happening yet.

I was able to get logs from the session crash. It seems to happen mostly right after the session is unlocks.

Please open a new issue (and link it here) so that it's easier to track.

You'll have more logs about the crash in ~/.local/state/tinydm.log since that'll collect the stderr of phosh and everything that it starts.
