fairphone-fp5 Systemd version hangs upon boot

What's the expected behaviour?

Device boots and is usable

What's the current behaviour?

Device boots to Disk Encryption password screen. After entering the password, the device continues boot and after 1-2 seconfs freezes completely.

How to reproduce your issue?

When using pmbootstrap,choose a DE like gnome-mobile and select to include systemd. OpenRC does not crash at this stage and works as expected.

On what postmarketOS version did you encounter the issue?

• edge (master branch)

• v24.12

• v24.06 (supported until 2025-01-23)

• I confirm that the issue still is present after running sudo apk upgrade -a

Environments

• GNOME Shell on Mobile

• OpenRC

• from https://images.postmarketos.org
• I built it using pmbootstrap
• It was preinstalled on my device

Are you still seeing this, @KurtFuchs ?

I did a fresh edge install on my FP5 (but with plasma-mobile, which also pulls in systemd) and it managed to boot. But this was without FDE.

At the moment I can't get past unl0kr on edge (works fine on v24.12). I think that's a different issue, though
