Pretty sure that this is working, but... let's also formally track the status in this issue, please help with answering. If we are confident, that everything is working, we can close this issue and have it show up in the milestone as resolved.

On my device, Wi-Fi works for sometime, then when it wants, it'll just stops working.. we'll have to reload the kernel module (8723cs) in order to regain ability.

Also, power saving mode makes Wi-Fi completely unusable.

Generaly a reload of the wifi module at start is as it stands a good idea

rmmod 8723cs && sleep 5s && modprobe 8723cs

(this command can also be done via ssh&wifi)

In my experience, it's working pretty well now (though I may not be dogfooding yet as much as you two were when you wrote this).

I haven't seen this a lot anymore, even with device being suspended multiple times.

When I take the pinephone pmOS ed. to my office, the phone wakes up every x minutes to ask for the wifi password. But it's already filled in. So I have to press ok and then the phone is connected again to the wifi and stays awake.

Seen on pmOS community edition pinephone, with the latest updates on the factory installed pmOS.

Thanks for the report @inanc, but please create an own issue for this. Also mention if this has always happened, or is likely to be a regression from an update, and if it only happens on this network or on other networks too. FWIW, I haven't experienced this yet.

I've not noticed any issues with wifi of the pinephone PMOS on my home network (WPA2) since I got it. These are pretty ideal conditions though, maybe 3 m from the hotspot. If there are problems maybe we should track the conditions under which they occur?

Yep, I agree with @hollunder. And I also didn't run into any issues with Wi-Fi, though I'm using it frequently now. Thanks for the datapoint!
