I know Mobian has a dark keyboard, it could just be a small package you could install with the specified theme.

I usually follow this guide to enable dark mode globally on Phosh. https://askubuntu.com/questions/769417/how-to-change-global-dark-theme-on-and-off-through-terminal

You need to create the file ~/.config/gtk-4.0/settings.ini
With this content:

[Settings]
gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme=1

It's a pity that dark mode cannot be enabled from gnome-control-center, in my opinion it's a very important feature and should be accessible by Gnome settings

Thanks, Federico Izzo. The guide you linked to worked great. I created a file at /home/user/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini and in the settings.ini file I typed:

[Settings] gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme=1

Saved the file and restarted the Pinephone and it worked. Although, the guide technically says to put the file in gtk-4.0 directory, there was no gtk-4.0 directory so I put it in gtk-3.0 instead.

Also, I agree that it should be accessible from the Gnome Settings application.
