I got frustrated and decided to just start over with a new branch and merge request, so I deleted the old branch and replaced it with this one then opened this merge request. I don't think I can recover the old merge request at this point. I tried reopening it but it didn't work. I'm sorry for this, I'm still not used to git.

!1578 is adding gcc10 fix to shared patches; I'd say let's wait for it to merge and change this MR's kernel (and then other kernels) to use that shared patch? Instead of duplicating it everywhere
