Re arch: will do! But since I want to be a good scout and leave the wiki better than I found it, can you please comment on why the wiki recommends to do what I did? I'm referring to
If the output is armv7l, for example, you should use armhf as your device architecture.
I think this needs some more explanation in the wiki for new users.
Re brackets: will do! But similar comment: those brackets are copy-pasted from the wiki or generated from the new APKBUILD template. I can change the wiki if that's OK with you, but I wouldn't know where/how to edit the template.
Re kernel config: My kernel config is based on the one I pulled from the vendor's ROM via adb - I'll add that as a comment.

Thanks for clarifying! I've updated both wiki pages I had linked to - you may want to check for correctness.
I've addressed the other failed CI checks and I'm currently rebuilding and testing, that may take a bit.

@PureTryOut OK, I'll squash - what's with disallowing automatic squashing by GitLab via linting and then doing it manually? What's the difference / what do I need to pay attention to?
I'll add a sentence about the desired commit message to the git workflow page on the wiki when I'm at home again.
Re codename: I'm happy to rename it - but what happens if someone else with another lifetab board comes along and wants to add their device as well? Wouldn't there be a name clash? (This device is slightly complicated in that the vendor is not the manufacturer and probably bought boards from various manufacturers for the same brand name.)

Are there more lifetab models?
There seems to be about a sh*t-ton of them - here are just the ones currently on sale - all with rather cryptic model numbers. Medion also (re-)sell TVs, laptops, and PCs (and deep fryers, apparently). It seems they have a two-part naming system: The name (Lifetab, Life, Akoya, Erazer) indicates the type of device and the number specifies the model.
Then it probably should be
device-medion-s9714
instead.I guess that could be done, though I hope to god they aren't re-using those model numbers across device types. I'd be a little more comfortable leaving Lifetab in the name, also because I imagine that's what people would search for. But it's a mouthful, admittedly.

Huh!
fastboot getvar product product: Kai
That's a nice codename - though I've got no way of verifying if it's really unique. (And no Lineage port that I could find.)

I'm in the process of renaming to 'kai' atm.
Can someone with appropriate permissions please delete https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/File:Medion-lifetab_s9714.jpg ? I've reuploaded it as https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/File:Medion-kai.jpg to rename the file.
